SJ Equestrian

SJ Equestrian is owned and run by Serenity Villar. She is an avid horse lover and a dressage rider. Serenity first sat on a horse when she was quite young but has learned to love them in a different way as she ages. She loves how horses can teach people more about themselves and there is nothing more beautiful than a horse and rider in harmony.
Serenity has a passion for teaching riders how to become effective and harmonious in the saddle. She focuses on basic horsemanship and lower level dressage. She loves to see riders progress and learn more about their equine partners.
Due to Serenity’s anxiety she has learned how to better listen to the horses. She has also learned that not every horse is a good fit for every rider. She believes there is a place in the dressage ring for solid citizens. She has learned that even “regular” horses can win in the dressage ring due to their amazing brains and willingness to partner with their human friend.
Serenity is currently President of the Central Alabama Dressage and Eventing Association and hope to encourage dressage in the younger generations.
