Stefanie M. Gayer, VMD

Dr. Stefanie Gayer, a native of Long Island, New York, developed a love for horses and became an equestrian at an early age. She earned her biology degree at Hofstra University where she also was a member of the equestrian team all four years.

After college, Dr. Gayer lived and worked at a warmblood breeding farm in Lexington, Kentucky, where she discovered her love of equine reproduction and neonatology. She was also able to work as an ambulatory technician at one of Kentucky’s busiest veterinary hospitals during breeding season.

Dr. Gayer attended the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine, where she received awards in patient care, internal medicine, and emergency and critical care for her work during her clinical year. Dr. Gayer currently shares ownership of racing Thoroughbreds, one of which recently retired and had her first foal.
