Dr. Steven Wales grew up the son of a race track veterinarian in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan.
Steve attended Michigan State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology (and a hefty dose of school spirit!) He attended Ross University where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. He then completed an internship at Equine Specialty Hospital in Ohio.
Given his history, it was only natural that Dr. Wales would develop a love of the Thoroughbred athlete and equine sports medicine. He also has a strong interest in lameness and internal medicine.
He founded his own practice in 2005. In 2007, Dr. Wales moved his practice to Presque Isle Downs. Over the last several years, he has worked to expand the business to include pleasure and show horses in the surrounding areas. In 2014, he began an additional venture at Mahoning Valley Racecourse in Youngstown, OH.
Dr. Wales, his wife, and three children are full time residents in Erie, PA. (Source)
