Dr. Susan J Cechner graduated with honors from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Dr. Cechner worked for a small animal practice and emergency service in Schaumburg, IL, and an emergency service in St. Charles, IL prior to reopening the Elburn Animal Hospital in 1992. Before becoming a veterinarian, she had attended Monmouth College and Rush University for a bachelor’s degree in medical technology. As a medical technologist she had worked for 4 years at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in the clinical immunology and biochemistry laboratories. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Cechner enjoys spending time with her family and pets, playing on the computer and reading in the tub. (Source)
