A native of Iowa, Dr. Susannah Lewis received her veterinary degree from the Universityof Minnesota, followed by an 18-month sport horse internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, KY, including a winter season in Wellington, FL. Prior to veterinary school, she completed her PhD at the University of Colorado, investigating novel treatments for chronic pain. She has a particular interest in equine neuromuscular diseases, lameness diagnosis and internal medicine. When not practicing medicine or pursuing her lifelong passion for dressage, she enjoys hiking and backpacking with her husband and Beagle puppy. (Source)
