Sutherlin Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1981 by Dr. Stephen Herrera. The original location was near downtown Sutherlin; until 1983 when Dr. Steve purchased the current property and moved the practice to 702 W. Central Avenue. For the next 7 years Dr. Steve was a single practitioner with his wife Mary working as his technician, before she left to attend vet school. Mary graduated Magna Cum Laude from OSU in 1990 becoming the second Doctor Herrera. Steve & Mary practiced together for 15 years. During that time Steve worked tirelessly to expand and develop the hospital and facilities. Dr. Mary has carried on the long history of care at Sutherlin Veterinary Hospital and ushered in a new generation of patient care and treatment options! (Source)
