Thiago P. Scaramuzza, DVM

Dr. Thiago Scaramuzza was born and raised in Novo Horizonte, a small town in São Paulo state, Brazil. He comes from a family of farmers, that’s where his enthusiasm in becoming an equine veterinarian came from. In 2007 Dr. Scaramuzza earned his veterinary medical degree from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP – Jaboticabal, SP), followed by a one-year internship at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital in Texas. In 2009 he joined Weems and Stephens Equine Hospital staff as a veterinarian assistant and became an associate veterinarian in 2016, after acquiring his licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Texas. Dr. Scaramuzza speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish, and in his spare time he enjoys traveling with his family and cooking. His clinical interests include neonatology, critical care cases and lameness. (Source)
