Dr. Tom Schell is a private veterinary practitioner in North Carolina focusing on various areas of specialty in the horse. He is a graduate of The Ohio State University with over 23 years of private practice experience in various aspects of equine medicine and surgery. A large part of his practice was in applying alternative herbal and nutritional therapies in the horse to help combat chronic health and lameness conditions. He has been actively involved with off-track Thoroughbred rehabilitation, with extensive experience in resolving chronic tendon conditions, foot pain, and digestive complaints. His main area of focus in research is the process of inflammation, how it impacts overall health, digestion, degenerative conditions, and the immune response. Through the proper usage of herbs and nutrition, he is able to mitigate the process. Dr. Schell is also highly experienced with foot related conditions, barefoot trimming, and trim applications to provide long term results for lame patients. Dr. Schell is the chief advisor, researcher, and product formulator for Nouvelle Veterinary Research, Inc., with the sole goal of creating real-world herbal and whole-food based solutions for dogs and horses. He is a certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist and Holistic Nutritionist, with past certification by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Equine Practice. He currently resides in North Carolina, operates a private equine rehabilitation facility, and frequently consults with horse owners around the United States and abroad. Dr. Schell is also the author of “Seeing the Whole Horse”.
Dr. Schell assists horse owners throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and worldwide via consultations provided remotely or on-site. (Source)
