Dr. Tim Phillips was raised on a Montana cattle ranch owned by his family since the late 1800’s. The ranch is located in Central Montana in the high plateau region on the east slope of the Rocky Mountains. Dr. Phillips has had a lifelong connection with horses and livestock. He attended Montana State University, majoring in pre-med (there was no pre-vet curriculum at that time). He was accepted to the Colorado State University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1970 where he completed his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. After graduation in 1974, he moved to Oregon to begin his practice career in Portland under the mentorship of Dr. John Metcalf, one of the Northwest’s first exclusive equine practitioners. (Source)
