Tyson Benson, DVM

Dr. Tyson Benson grew up on a dairy farm in Lansing, NY. In order to capitalize on the farm life experience, his parents populated the dairy farm with various other species including a pony, pigs, goats, a rabbit, ducks, dogs, cats, a donkey, and chickens. It is therefore no surprise that Tyson was inclined to work with animals as a career. Cornell Vet School was graced with his presence until 2009, at which time he took a job in New Mexico. It wasn’t long before he missed the snow and overcast skies of upstate New York and therefore had to return; initially taking a job as a mixed animal vet with Brookside Veterinary Clinic. In July of 2013 Tyson bought half the business and rechristened it Homestead Large Animal and quit seeing dogs and cats in order to focus on the horses, cows, alpacas, llamas, goats, and sheep. After a workday filled with farm animals, Tyson returns home to spend time with his wife, Victoria, and some truly wild things: his seven kids. (Source)
