Mad Barn Supplement Review

In a nutshell – AminoTrace+ = an excellent product that includes a handful of supplements I was using separately, but especially helpful for my PPID horse, Jazz, and solved my senior’s squirt issues. Inhouse Nutritionist – Prompt consultation on diet evaluation and recommendations. MadBarn – GREAT customer service!  Very responsive and helpful.  Delivery is always faster than expected.   After trying different yeast and probiotic products to help my 26 year old PPIC senior quarter horse, Jazz, who developed Free Fecal Water syndrome / runs / the squirts shortly after I moved him to his new home, I was at my wits end trying to figure out what was going on with him and how to help him.  I heard of MadBarn from one of the boarders who uses one of the daily pelleted products. I visited the website, sent an inquiry to the nutritionist, and received some very helpful information. I then tried the Analyze Diet and compared notes. From this analysis, I decided AminoTrace+ would be worth a try.  Bingo!  Problem solved. No more squirts, and everyone who sees Jazz says this is the best they’ve ever seen him look since I came to this place nearly two years ago!  He is perky, good energy, weight, and is all around a happy, healthy horse. I read some reviews about the taste.  After introducing him to it little by little, within a few days he was completely adapted to it and gobbles it up with his other pellets.  Thanks so much!

My 19 year old QH mare: She has been getting Omneity in either pellets or premix for 3 years now, and W3 oil for 2 years. I feed her soaked hay cubes (400 g dry) to help maintain a healthy weight.

When my main competition horse developed a quarter crack, I wanted to be sure all of his nutritional needs were being met to encourage hoof growth. I ultimately decided on the Omenity pellets and have been nothing but impressed with how quickly his hooves have grown, how much stronger his hooves are, and how fast we were able to get the quarter crack grown out to the point where it was off of his coronet band. Photos are just 4 months apart.

Once I started doing 50 milers (80km) endurance rides with Echo, it was a struggle to keep weight on him. I had MadBarn analyze his diet for weight maintenance, end of competition stamina and preventing scratches through nutrition. Even though I was feeding him fats, flax and such, it was the W3 oil that became a game changer. Not only does he keep weight on following competitions, his hooves and coat are healthier, and he has since completed a three day 75 mile, one day 75 and two day 100 mile (placing top ten in all). And he received his first two High Vet Scores along with a few Best Conditions. I attribute that to the generous support Madbarn provided in diet analysis and adding W3 oil. The pictures are almost exactly a year apart; top one is before Mad Barn bottom is after a year of Omneity and Three Amigos. That paired with better exercise and an amazing body worker. I’ve noticed major changes in his coat, muscle, and feet. He’s a whole new horse and I will always have it in my feed routine.

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the incredible impact your products have had on my barrel racing career. The results have been nothing short of remarkable, and I am thrilled to share my success story with you. Since incorporating Mad Barn’s products into my horses’ nutrition and care regimen, I have witnessed a significant transformation in their overall health and performance. Visually, my horses have never looked better. Their coats are shinier, their muscle tone is more defined, and their energy levels have soared. The most astonishing change, however, has been in their performance. Recently, I had the opportunity to compete in a high-stakes barrel racing event in Las Vegas, where I raced against a staggering 670 horses. Thanks to the support of Mad Barn’s products, my horses not only stood out visually but also excelled in the arena. I won Friday’s round, outperforming 670 competitors. Additionally, I finished second overall for the entire event, which spanned the weekend. This achievement would not have been possible without the consistent and remarkable performance improvements I’ve seen in my horses. One of the most noticeable benefits has been their improved recovery capabilities. After each race, my horses recovered faster and with less stress. They remain consistently strong and focused, leading to consistent and impressive race times. This newfound consistency has been a game-changer in the world of barrel racing, where fractions of a second can make all the difference. I am immensely grateful for the role Mad Barn’s products have played in my success, and I am excited to continue using your products as an integral part of my horses’ care routine. Your commitment to producing high-quality nutritional supplements has made a profound impact in my career and no doubt it’s going to spread throughout the barrel racing community. Thank you once again for being an essential part of my team and for helping me achieve my goals in this sport…

I never write reviews but had to say something about the nutritionist Elise who has been working with me for months. I have five horses but they started to waste away. Vet took test after test looking for medical reasons for their poor body condition. My gelding and two mares were in bad shape so I reached out to Mad Barn since I was using some of their supplements and Elise traded endless emails with me of updates and suggestions. We still have a little ways to go but without being dramatic I don’t think my horses would be with me today if it wasn’t for her persistence to help. All of the staff at Mad Barn are amazing. If my supplements aren’t the correct consistency or a box is damaged, I let them know and without question, a replacement is sent.

Forever grateful!
Karen

Mon précieux Phoenix a reçu un diagnostique de début de Cushing l’an dernier. Je vous invite sans tarder à contacter Julie pour bénéficier  vous aussi, de ses judicieux conseils.

I started my mare with Mad Barn’s Omniety in 2021 when I moved to Tallahassee Fl. It was suspected that she had a Metabolic disorder because of the extra pounds she would put on during the growing season. Once I had her tested in 2022, my suspicions were confirmed.
With Mad Barn’s support working with Dairy One Lab results and Dr. Elenor Kellon’s balancing formula we’ve been able to get her weight acceptable. We have just switched over to the AminoTrace product, and she tolerates it well.
It’s very important to have a company that is willing to work with your vet and lab when maintaining and caring for the EMS/IR horse.
Mad Barn has stepped up to the plate on all levels.

It’s been 1 full year since putting my mule on Spirulina and Omneity premix (which are the ONLY supplements he gets with just oats). There is a dramatic difference in his coat, hooves and overall condition. No heavy grooming, no bath and no polish! When I was looking for a supplement to support gut health and [redacted], I was drawn to Mad Barn’s Visceral+ because it was one of the few that gave detailed scientific research, with links to the studies, supporting each ingredient in the supplement. Additionally, the ingredients are natural, not chemical. Our horse loves it and we have no further indications of [redacted]! Customer service is awesome! Thanks Mad Barn!

Hi there, I wanted to share a recent photo of my girl Blaze. It is not the greatest quality picture and was taken from quite far away but from a distance I was struck by how stunning she looked in the evening light. She is 20 years young and will be 21 in April 2023. I have had Blaze on Probiotic, w-3 oil and MSM consistently over the past year. I believe the picture speaks for itself and how she is looking younger as each year passes. She struggles with on and off lameness due to conformation. She is who she is. It has been a long haul, with ups and downs, trials of lots of different options. Along with great farrier advice, lots of TLC and great nutrition, she is the best she can be. I sincerely believe your products have helped bring her to this point. She is comfortable and although retired, seeing her walk without pain, jog and on occasion, galop like a happy 2 year old, has been the most rewarding experience and fills my heart. She is my first horse, my heart horse, my forever horse.

I had been feeding high end vit/mineral supplements and a well known oil for the past 7 years. My black mare lost her dapples over time, so when I found Mad Barn I thought I'd give them a try. I started using the W-3 Oil and the Omneity P and within a month, my mare had her dapples back and she LOVES the taste. She actually starts drooling in anticipation when she sees her 'bucket' in my hands. So glad I found this company with excellent products and AMAZING customer service at a more affordable price.

I felt I had to write to let you know how impressed I am with your products. I am using Omneity Vitamin/mineral mix and W3 oil. We have two Rocky Mountain Horses, Cody (age 9) and Melody (age 15) that we take with us to travel back and forth between Ladysmith, B.C., and Louisiana twice a year. We trail ride at various locations throughout the US. The difference in the overall general health has been amazing! Their coats just gleam and are so soft. Cody has had a sensitivity to the tiniest bit of dust sometimes found in their hay and would develop a cough. Three weeks after starting the W3 oil and he has no cough at all, zero! I was a little skeptical that the oil would work as I have been trying other cough products as well as switching hay, to no avail. I am so pleased we decided to go with Omneity and W-3. I am also giving the W3 oil to our other Rocky for long term joint health. Both horses have had no issue with eating it either! I also used your feed assessment assistance which was thoroughly explained and of benefit. Thank you for providing great products at an affordable price.

Started her as a 3 year old

When I first bought Lilly in January she was scruffy, had a short jagged mane, and didn’t have a top line. She is only 3, so I wanted her to have a balanced complete mineral as she is growing, and being started. I had heard great things about Mad Barn Omneity, so I started feeding it, and have seen amazing results! She has shedded out so nicely and gotten shiny, the biotin in it has given her a beautiful healthy mane and hooves, and the magnesium has kept her weight balanced as she grows and fills out. I can’t say enough great things about this product, and would recommend it to anyone 😀

My heart horse, who kept me sane through vet school and has been my anchor throughout my career, has been transformed since I switched to your products. He’s now 21, but since starting MadBarn 2 months ago, he’s going on 10. I always told my clients to give their horse 3 months on a product before deciding how well it works, so I can’t wait to see what the next month brings!

Whiskey was having problems with maintaining his Vitamin E levels, despite increasingly aggressive supplementation with products that had worked for him in the past. It stopped working, so I started him on w-3 oil and omneity pellets. I also gave him a water solvable Vit E supplement and an injection of E/Se during his critical time (his lowest Vit E test was 99ug/dl). He is almost back to the low end of normal one month after starting treatment!

He wasn’t fussy on the taste, but mixing some TriMax in for flavour helped him finish his grain meals. I have to drench him with the oil, but he is starting to grab the syringe when I do, so I’m hopeful I’ll be able to add it to his grain eventually. He’s a diva over food (although you wouldn’t say by looking at him) and he isn’t sold on the palatability, but it is doing wonders for my old boy.

He looks fabulous, is completely sound again, has the top line of when he was being schooled daily, and requires half halts constantly during our trails. His sweet and sunny personality has come back fully, and I’m beyond happy to have my boy back to himself again.

Thank you. Thank you for helping my boy and easing my worry. I’m delighted with the change I see in him since starting MadBarn.

_____________________________

UPDATE: My heart horse has been completely renewed by feeding MadBarn exclusively (with hay cubes to get the diva to eat them). Here are the before (on Omneity Pellets and w-3 oil partial doses for a couple months) and the after picture taken on his 22nd birthday (Omneity premix, Natural E/Organic Se pellets, Spirulina, Jiaogulan, MSM, and w-3 oil). Thank you to all the MadBarn team for the amazing work you do. Please feel free to share Whiskey’s story 😊

My senior boy has cushings and arthritis. I submitted his feed analysis and switched him over to all mad barn products. I found giving the oil with msm as suggested by the nutritionist, has helped with his clicking. Unfortunately I had to go back to camelina oil for a jug because everyone was out of stock for the w-3 oil. I notice just in the time I used it, his clickiness came back. Not sure why people gave one star just because of the packaging. All I did was buy a big enough jug that has a nozzle/spout that opens/closes. Just that simple, no mess and it’s easy to measure the product! The review is how the product works. I think it’s great for my guy, he loves his food and never leaves anything lol.

My “gifted” senior Peruvian Paso mare had a history of laminitis/founder when I got her. Her owner got ill and someone else stepped into help, resulting in the founder. She’s been with with me for 3 years with regular barefoot hoof care, vet visits/x-rays, strictly controlled diet, regular light riding, but still some mild bouts of laminitis. In August 2021 she started on AT+ and, I believe, it has contributed to her continuing stability. Admittedly, she needs more exercise, her fat pads are showing, but I am 78 and she’s 20 = we’re 98! She is still a little (13.1) buzz saw under saddle – NOT a kid’s horse!

Dove, my Shetland pony/Miniature Horse suffered from diarrhea squirts during fall, winter and spring months especially in the last 3-4 years. Her filthy tail bag required daily washing, I washed her legs and tail frequently each week. She would have the squirts for about 10-14 days and then it would stop for 4-5 days only to start up again. I dreaded winter. According to the vet, diarrhea squirts are a common problem in the Lower Mainland of B.C. due to the wet growing conditions for local hay crops with the quality of hay varying greatly even from the same field. This winter there has been no diarrhea squirts since starting Amino Trace+. My only problem now is that Dove has put on weight due to better digestion!

Dove is a dapple silver colour with a blond mane and tail. In the summer she is clipped and looks light grey. In the summer of 2021 she progressed from light grey to a beige colour with orange patches on either side of her spine and the ends of her mane were twisted like barb wire. I suspected iron overload. I started her on Amino Trace+ and within two weeks her mane had straightened out. Dove’s new winter coat was pure dark grey instead of the dark brownish-grey it had been every other winter since we partnered in March, 2017.

Amino Trace+ has been amazing for Dove and me! Thank you!

I’d like to let you know about our purchase of  Visceral. We are a 12 year old non profit horse rescue and sanctuary. Last winter we took in an abused and neglected Welsh pony/paint cross mare.

She came in with diarrhea and nothing worked. Flagyl worked for a few days, we tried bio-sponge, slippery elm, the vet just gave up. Her legs were sore in the back from always being wet.

We were told about Visceral, put her on it and the diarrhea is GONE. Just like that.
