Caleb Lund, DVM

Dr. Lund graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in veterinary medicine. His first job out of veterinary school was as an intern veterinarian at Pioneer Equine Hospital, an equine surgery center in Oakdale, California. This hands-on opportunity allowed him to earn a three-year equine surgery residency at Washington State University. While at WSU he learned from several board-certified surgeons in all areas of equine surgery, including abdominal, airway, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery, as well as lameness diagnosis. He was also able to study with the experts in other fields, including diagnostic imaging, anesthesia, and equine medicine.

Dr. Lund is the only full-time board-certified equine surgeon (or Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, DACVS) in the greater Yellowstone area. Dr. Lund’s specialties include complex lameness diagnosis, abdominal/colic surgeries, arthroscopic surgeries and fracture repairs as well as soft tissue and other orthopedic surgeries. He has authored papers in peer-reviewed veterinary journals on minimally invasive surgery, complex lameness diagnosis, and abdominal surgery. He also speaks at continuing-education meetings about conditions of the equine head. He is passionate about surgical innovation from both a practical and academic perspective, and he plans to continue these at Lund Equine. (Source)
