Chelsea Marie Santa Lucia, DVM

A native of Connecticut, Dr Santa Lucia graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine after doing her undergraduate work at the University of Connecticut. During veterinary school she worked as a technician during large animal emergency surgeries and as a research assistant in equine reproduction. She is an energetic and compassionate person. Her list of volunteer experiences ranges from work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association to being a team leader while volunteering with neonatal foals in the intensive care unit. Her favorite pastimes include fostering her green thumb, working with the horses on her farm and spending time with her dog.

She admires her mother as a role model since she is a cancer survivor that makes the needs of others her priority and continually works hard at all she does but remains always caring. Dr. Santa Lucia continues this caring and compassion she learned from her mom when working with her equine patients.

Dr. Santa Lucia has a special interest in lameness and sports medicine. She has a special fondness for the polo pony. (Source)
