Helen O. Noble, VMD

Dr. Helen Noble received her undergraduate degree Summa cum Laude in Biology from Suffolk University, then her VMD degree Magna cum Laude
from the Veterinary College at University of Pennsylvania. She began practicing Veterinary Medicine in the early 1980’s with her Dad, Dr. S. Robert Orcutt. Although Dr. Noble has been actively involved in all aspects of providing medical care for large and small animals, her focus is equine reproduction.

Her interest in equine reproduction began with her work at the Hanover Shoe Farm, a Standardbred breeding farm, while in Veterinary school. Dr. Noble was a member of the research team at Hamilton Farms which developed the Equitainer for transporting semen for artificial insemination. The breeding tradition of her father’s Burkland Farm is being proudly carried on by Helen and Leif’s sons, Joshua and Caleb, where they breed and raise Morgan horses.

Helen has done missionary work in India and the Philippines through the Christian Veterinary Mission. There, she has used her veterinary abilities to bring the Good News to the unreached in the developing world. CVM mobilizes veterinary professionals to use the skills of their profession to help proclaim the gospel across the globe. It can be a very rewarding experience for the veterinarians as they experience in their service the cross roads where their professional calling and spiritual calling intersect. In 2012, she was elected to be on the board of advisers for CVM.

Dr. Noble has been married to her husband, Leif, since 1976, and they reside in Rowley, MA. Their older son, Joshua, married Melanie Johnson in August of 2012. Helen and Leif are the very proud grandparents of Mel and Josh’s daughters, Mackenzie Grace & Lyla Marshall. Helen and Leif’s youngest son Caleb has started his own business, Noblesteed Productions. Joshua, Melanie, and Caleb continue to carry on the Burkland Farm tradition. (Source)
