John P. Marion, DVM

Dr. Marion began his work in the veterinary profession in 1986 as a veterinary assistant. Eventually working his way through college assisting at the prestigious Oakland Equine Center. Dr. Marion graduated from Michigan State Universitys College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. After graduation he practiced in Colorado for 5 years before taking over Castlewood Canyon Equine in 2002.

In addition to his practice experience in Colorado, Dr. Marion has also been in private practices in Lexington KY, Australia and England. Dr. Marion’s practice interests include lameness and sports medicine as well as preventing disease and injury. In addition, Dr. Marion has trained under and is now a consultant with some of the worlds leading equine dental experts. Dr. Marion feels offering some of the most advanced dentistry in Colorado helps performance horses perform better and companion horses live longer!

In his spare time Dr. Marion enjoys riding and spending time with his son Maclain, daughter Ella and wife Elaine who is a Dressage trainer. (Source)
