Luft Trailer Sales, Inc.

Luft Trailer Sales was started in a pasture in 1991 when Tom, Teresa, Josey and Shane Luft moved from Kansas to Ellensburg WA. A stock trailer had to be purchased in order to make the move and once they arrived in Ellensburg it quickly sold. Another trailer then had to be purchased to go back and get the horses and again it quickly sold. This cycle continued and every time Tom would go back to the Midwest for work, he would bring a trailer back. Soon Tom was installing hitches in the driveway at night. We worked out of the house selling trailers for 3 years while doing other jobs and in 1994 we moved the business to our next location on Canyon Rd in Ellensburg. The business grew so fast that within a year we were already out of space and had to keep expanding. In 1999 we opened another store in Chehalis, which was later moved to Rochester WA. After many years at the Ellensburg location, we purchased the Superior Lamb packing plant and started remodeling the building. In spring 2007 it was completed. We are continually remodeling and improving the business. It has grown from a double wide trailer house and pasture to a 3,000sqft showroom for parts and accessories, 4,000sqft shop and receiving room, and 5 acres filled with a variety of trailers.

Over the years Luft Trailer Sales has sponsored many events and organizations such as the Ellensburg Rodeo, The Sparrow Foundation, Kittitas Valley 4-H, Hospice, West Star Roping, and many others. Luft Trailer Sales is also very active in the community and was named the “Family of the Year” by the Ellensburg Rodeo Top Hands in 2006.
