Nicole C. Tavel, DVM

Dr. Nicole Tavel grew up on a horse farm in Indiana. After graduation from Purdue University in 2006, she completed an internship in equine surgery and medicine at Elgin Veterinary Hospital in Texas. Drawn to the sunshine, and the opportunity to work on a large and diverse population of horses, Dr. Tavel began an equine ambulatory practice in Phoenix in 2008. Since then, she has become certified in acupuncture and takes a personal interest in the overall health and comfort of each patient. Dr. Tavel uses an integration of Eastern and Western Medical modalities to promote optimal health and performance. Although she greatly enjoys contributing to the success of the performance horse, Dr. Tavel also has a strong interest in geriatrics, pain management, and rehabilitation. When she is not spending time with her equine patients, Dr. Tavel can be found running – either on a trail through the mountains or after her two daughters. (Source)
