About Original Wilderness Horse Camp

Located at Cornucopia, gateway to the Eagle Cap Wilderness, our Original Wilderness Horse Camp is the perfect camp for that horse-crazy teenage girl who has already mastered the basics of horse care and riding. While at this 7-day overnight camp, you’ll expand your knowledge by riding every day up mountain trails that will take you to spectacular views and allowing you to explore this historic mining area.

The week starts out in our sturdy, rustic base camp above Pine Creek where you will get acquainted with your fellow campers. Our base camp has a hot water shower, canvas wall tents with wooden floors, and, as always, spectacular scenery!

A resident camp, each day the girls saddle up and head out into the mountains then return to base camp at night where they’ll learn to prepare their meals using rustic cowgirl cooking skills. Taking overnight trips will depend on the skill and group size of each camp, nights will be spent gazing at the millions of stars filling the sky every night. (Source)
