I'm Summer Baillie. I'm an FEI dressage coach and trainer. I started riding when I was eight — I got eight lessons for my eighth birthday — and I've been riding ever since.

I'm a coach and trainer. I travel to do freelance lessons, and I have horses come in to me for training. I started working with Freeman when he was four. He came to me as a training horse. From the moment we started working together, we understood each other really well, so I was lucky enough to be able to take him on as my full-time horse when he was five. He went out for his first year at training level and did extremely well. He ended up being Equestrian Canada’s Canadian-bred Horse of the Year at training level, and he was the year-end champion as well.

I started using Mad Barn products probably about six years ago. I was having trouble with my feed program — I had several horses who were struggling with ulcers, and Freeman ended up showing us that he was insulin resistant. At that point, I contacted Mad Barn and worked closely with Scott and Noelle to help rebuild my feed program so that my horses could be healthier and happier again.

We started off doing hay samples, sent those in, and once they were analyzed, we were able to figure out where we needed to rebalance things to keep everything in the proper levels for performance horses.

I love working with Mad Barn because the customer service has always been exceptional. I get lots of feedback from several different people who are working in the field. I'm able to send questions about difficult cases and things that I'm having trouble with, and sometimes they come out to the barn as well to have a look at the horses and tell me what they think they need to improve their condition.

I love that there are so many products available. It's difficult to find a spot that offers everything you want, so the convenience of being able to order everything I need from one place has been very nice.
