Dr. Roemer grew up in Bolton, Massachusetts and began showing in the hunter and jumper rings when she was 11 years old. Shortly after her riding career began, she told her parents she wanted to be an equine veterinarian and never looked back. While living overseas in India with her family, she focused on dressage and show jumping. As an undergraduate student at Brown University, she was a member of the varsity equestrian team for all four years and represented Brown at IHSA Nationals.
After graduating with a degree in biology from Brown, she went on to receive her DVM from Cornell University in 2010. She then completed an intensive equine internship at New England Equine Medical & Surgical Center in Dover, NH. Dr. Roemer has worked at equine practices in Westchester County NY/Fairfield County CT and southern New Hampshire. She has a particular interest in sport horse medicine and lameness, but enjoys all aspects of equine medicine. Dr. Roemer is also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) and incorporates integrative medicine into her practice when appropriate. Client education is an important part of Dr. Roemer’s practice philosophy. She is always happy to answer any questions you may have and she enjoys giving presentations to horse owners and groups on numerous topics in equine medicine and surgery.
Dr. Roemer continues to ride as much as possible. She lives with her husband, twin daughters, and two dogs in Portsmouth, NH. (source)
