She started as a veterinary assistant for an equine veterinary clinic in Indiana, leading to her job as the breeding manager for RC Racing Stables. She then applied and was accepted into Purdue University’s 4 year veterinary technology program. While at Purdue she worked hand-in-hand with the veterinary students and clinicians in the teaching hospital. At Purdue, she focused on equine podiatry and reproduction. She completed an externship at Rood and Riddle in Lexington, Kentucky working with world renowned doctors such as: Larry Bramlage, and Scott Morrison. Obtaining her veterinary technologist degree in 2004, she began working for Palm Beach Equine, traveling from Wyoming to Florida with the world cup polo horses. She then took a position with Haynes Stevens and later, Steele and Associates working with the Olympic jumpers and dressage athletes and the official US Olympic team veterinarian.
The focus of these practices was lameness diagnosis and treatment, often employing regenerative treatment modalities such as; mesenchymal stem cell injection, bone marrow aspirate concentrate, PRP, IRAP, and shockwave therapy. While in Florida and Wyoming, she spent numerous hours working with multiple high-end farriers and started her own farrier business. From there, she accepted a position in Utah, working as the head technician for Mountain Horse Medical Center (a surgical referral hospital) before joining our team at Premier Equine Veterinary Associates.
