Dr. Adrien Zap grew up in Ridgefield, CT, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut. She went on to receive a Masters degree from the University of Florida before attending veterinary school at St. George’s University in Grenada. After three years in Grenada, Dr. Zap returned to the US to complete her clinical training year at the University of Georgia.

After working for several years in general practice, Dr. Zap felt compelled to provide better, more thorough, personalized care for her patients. She studied veterinary acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS), and received dual certification in Small Animal and Large Animal Acupuncture. Dr. Zap also studied natural animal nutrition through the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies, and is currently working towards certification in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine.

In 2016, Dr. Zap returned to Ridgefield, CT, where she currently lives with a pitbull named Enzo, a tortoise named Mora, a snake named Monty, several goldfish and hives of honeybees. She enjoys volunteering, traveling, learning foreign languages, Muay Thai (kickboxing), riding horses, and practicing yoga.

Dr. Zap is a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Association of Zoo Veterinarians (AAZV), Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV), American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture (AAVA), and the Honey Bee Veterinary Consortium (HBVC).
