Alex Curtiss, VMD

Dr. Alex Curtiss is originally from Maryland, where she grew up riding event horses, foxhunting and galloping racehorses. Following graduation from Vanderbilt University with a degree in biology, she took a year off from the books to ride full time professionally. She then headed to Philadelphia for veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 2014, which was followed by a year-long internship at Rood and Riddle in Lexington, KY. Next, Dr. Curtiss returned to New Bolton Center for a large animal internship and then a large animal surgery residency, which she completed in July of 2019.

During her residency, she published and presented at national meetings on several topics, specifically related to equine orthopedics and upper airway surgery, as well as advanced imaging of the orthopedic patient. Prior to joining Hogan Equine, she spent six months at a busy racehorse practice in Matamata, New Zealand as an associate surgeon. (Source)
