I met Dr. Benson at On the Bit, a riding academy in Clayton, CA. She was so kind to the horses. She worked well with the families and trainers. It was awesome to see her take X-rays, read them, and treat the horses.

    I highly recommend her.

I love Alicia Benson, DVM. Dr. Benson is one of the Equine Veterinarians who make “barn calls” at On the Bit.

She grew up in the East Bay where she rode and showed Arabians. She graduated from the Virgina-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine where she played a leadership role in several student organizations including the American Association of Equine Practitioners.

You see her leadership skills demonstrated as she moves through several appointments during her visits. On any visit, she may do wellness checks, examine a horse for possible lameness, take X-rays and draw labs. She is kind and gentle with the horses as well as families and staff.

Watching her quickly go from the stable to the riding ring to evaluate gait, pain and movement is exciting.

Among other specialities, Dr. Benson is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and provides on-site treatment.

    I highly recommend her.

Gift in seeing what my horse needed another 10
My horse 20 yrs old had gone lame. A vet came out week before and gave the leg the wrong diagnosis she didn’t even have the right leg. Alicia came out. It was amazing to meet her. I am so grateful because I didn’t think there’s any hope for my horse , She gave my horse, a wellness test that was accurate She gave her chiropractic care which I was surprised at how well it worked, then I had this magical shot I know it was $800, but wow my horse is new horse without pain. See you soon thank you so much Alicia you’re awesome.
