Dr. Wisnewski is a 2000 graduate of Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from Lidgerwood, she completed her undergraduate requirements at NDSU. She additionally, completed a month long course in traditional Chinese therapy & acupuncture at Beijing Agricultural University in Beijing China in 1999. After graduation, Dr. Wisnewski worked in a high volume mixed-animal practice until 2009. She attended NAVC Post-graduate Institute in 2004 for ophthalmology.
In 2009, Dr. Wisnewski accepted a position as the Resident Veterinarian for the Minnesota School of Business (now Globe University) Veterinary Technology Program in Moorhead in. She spent 3 years overseeing animal care & teaching at the college. During this time, she worked on developing her start-up practice.
In August of 2012, Prairie Winds Veterinary Center opened. Dr. Wisnewski is the sole owner in the practice.
Dr. Wisnewski has a special interest in ophthalmology, nutrition, dentistry and high risk anesthesia. She enjoys soft tissue surgery, pain management, diagnostic medicine, and behavior. She has a wealth of experience in canine, feline, and equine medicine. Dr. Wisnewski enjoys meeting clients and tailoring care to the needs of the pet and the family. She has been asked to speak at numerous events including the North Dakota Veterinary Technician Association, West Fargo Women’s Conference, and surrounding colleges and high schools.
Dr. Wisnewski and her 3 children live in Casselton with their cat Chester and their French Bulldog, Stitch. She enjoys numerous outdoor activities including horseback riding, fishing, basketball, running, swimming, and kick-boxing. Any activities with her kids are favorites though. She coaches youth basketball in Casselton. Dr. Wisnewski is also an accomplished pianist. She regularly plays at St. Leo’s Parish, accompanies the United Singers Cantata group, soloists at Central Cass School, and performers for the Casselton Summerfest Variety Show. She has a love for music, art, reading and writing. Dr. Wisnewski is a farm girl at heart and loves any time that she can get to the farm and enjoy an early morning ride in an old pickup truck through the countryside with a hot cup of coffee. Ranger rides, bonfires and backyard cookouts with friends & family are a favorite way to spend an evening or weekend. (Source)
