Dr. Amanda Chang grew up all over the world due to her father’s military career, but considers Honolulu, Hawaii to be her hometown. She started riding when she was five, and her love and passion for horses only grew from there. No matter where she lived, horses remained one of the few constants in her life. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. Dr. Chang completed an internship at an equine practice in Aiken, South Carolina, completed a second internship here at Myrtle Beach Equine Clinic, and then continued to work for MBEC as an associate veterinarian. In 2018, Dr. Chang purchased the practice. She has a special interest in equine preventive care, equine geriatric care, and equine lameness and rehabilitation. Dr. Chang enjoys working on other species as well. She especially enjoys goat herd health and zoo and exotic species medicine. Dr. Chang is certified in veterinary acupuncture for all species and in spinal manipulation (chiropractic) for horses. In her spare time, she enjoys paddleboarding, surfing, traveling, photography, and going to the movies. (Source)
