About Amelia Gillenwater, DVM

Dr. Gillenwater grew up in Tobaccoville, North Carolina at a therapeutic horseback riding farm and has lived in North Carolina ever since. She went to Warren Wilson College near Asheville for undergraduate school, then went to North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has four dogs, three cats, and two outdoor pot-belly pigs.

Dr. Gillenwater enjoys both small and large animal medicine and surgery, and has a special spot in her heart for pot-belly pig medicine.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities with her husband and two daughters. (Source)
