Dr. Leibeck grew up with lots of siblings and many pets in Scottsville, NY. After graduation from Wheatland-Chili she spent a year living in the Netherlands as an exchange student where she attended school but also worked on a dairy farm. Upon return from her year abroad she attended Potsdam College where she majored in Biology, Chemistry and Secondary Education. Dr. Leibeck spent three years teaching in the science department and coaching volleyball at Manlius Pebble Hill School in DeWitt, NY. She attended veterinary school at Cornell University where she developed a strong desire to become an equine practitioner. Following graduation, an internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY solidified her desire to use her veterinary education to help horses and their owners.

Dr. Leibeck joined Genesee Valley Equine Clinic in 1995 and has been involved in day-to-day management and ownership of the practice since 2001. Her professional veterinary interests include reproduction, internal medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics and dentistry.

Dr. Leibeck and her husband, Steve, live in Churchville with their daughter, Riley. Amy and Steve can be seen at local events and dressage competitions as grooms for Riley and her mount, Hot Wheels. There are many other pets at the Leibeck’s including dogs, cats, horses and chickens.

In her spare time, Dr. Leibeck stays active on the boards for Allendale Columbia School and Genesee Valley Riding and Driving Club. Occasionally she likes to sneak in a trail ride, preferably with Riley. (Source)
