Ashleigh Olds-Sanchez, DVM

Dr. Sanchez attended Colorado State University and obtained a BS degree in Equine Science before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California at Davis. After veterinary school, Dr. Sanchez continued her education by completing an internship in Equine Medicine and Surgery at the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital. In 2013, Dr. Sanchez completed the rigorous process of becoming Board Certified in Equine Practice through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.

Dr. Sanchez has been competing in Reined Cowhorse and Ranch Versatility events as well as breeding American Quarter Horses with a focus on cowhorse bloodlines. With such a diverse background, with clients from racehorses to polo ponies, as well as both english and western sport horses, Dr. Sanchez can provide the care that you and your horses need.

Dr. Sanchez has a keen understanding of the needs of horse owners of all types. From high level competition horses to backyard pets, trail riding horses, and senior horses, Dr. Sanchez can help guide owners to the optimum treatment plans to maximize health and performance in line with the owner’s needs. She and her husband have a small but growing cattle operation in New Mexico and she also understands the needs and value of working ranch horses and livestock. Dr. Sanchez lives with her husband, two children, a pack of working cur dogs, and their horses. Dr. Sanchez and her husband opened Galisteo Basin Veterinary Services to provide high level care for conscientious animal owners in northern New Mexico area and beyond. (Source)
