Dr. Ashley grew up in Ledyard, CT where she was an active member of Mystic Pony Club. She attended college at Boston University, graduating with a BS in Biology. She received her doctorate in 2008 from the University of Pennsylvania. After vet school, Dr. Kornatowski spent 2 years in a rigorous internship. She was responsible not only for ambulatory duties, but also in charge of critical patients in the hospital. While there, she gained experience in surgery, emergency medicine and critical care. Additionally, she developed her interests in lameness and dentistry. She spent a year working at a two doctor clinic in Western NY before deciding to start Twin Pines Equine. In August 2013, Dr. Ashley spent 5 weeks at Options For Animals and became certified by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA). What in the world is a VMD? VMD is the latin phrase for DVM. It stands for Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) and is the degree bestowed upon veterinarians that have graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. (Source)
