About Bay de Noc-Grand Island Trail
The 40-mile trail overlooks the Whitefish River basin from a ridge running from Rapid River to Munising. The trail follows the ancient portage route of Chippewa Indians who carried canoes and supplies from Lake Michigan to Lake Superior. Horses are welcome. (Source)
