Brian W. Fitzgerald, DVM

Dr. Fitzgerald grew up in northwest Houston. His passion for horses began early while working with the ranch horses on his family’s cow/calf operation in Columbus. He graduated with honors from Texas A&M University with a degree in Animal Science in 2000. In 2002, Dr. Fitzgerald completed farrier training in Sacramento, CA at the Pacific Coast Horseshoeing School. He shod horses while attending veterinary school at Texas A&M, where he graduated with honors in 2005. After graduation, he completed a one year internship at Steinbeck Country Equine Clinic in Salinas, CA before moving to the 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, TX where he worked as a resident veterinarian at one of the world’s largest equine breeding operations. He moved back to southeast Texas and started F9 Equine Clinic in Spring of 2009.

Dr. Fitzgerald’s professional interests include equine lameness, reproduction, podiatry, and general equine medicine. Dr. Fitzgerald is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the Texas Equine Veterinary Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Texas Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Fitzgerald has previously served on the equine practice committee for the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the owner education committee for the American Association of Equine Practitioners.
