Brooke Alnwick, DVM

Dr. Brooke Alnwick grew up in Groton, Massachusetts with dogs and horses that helped spark her love of animals. She started working with her horse’s veterinarian as a teenager, and quickly learned that she wanted to follow in his footsteps! She obtained a bachelors in pre-veterinary sciences from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2016. While living in Amherst, she worked on a dairy farm and helped manage a small herd of beef cattle. She also was a member of the UMass Equestrian Team. She then moved to Auburn, Alabama for veterinary school and earned her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Auburn University in 2020. While in veterinary school, she worked in the equine hospital on weekends, held multiple leadership positions, and participated in research projects.

After veterinary school, Dr. Brooke completed an internship in the large animal hospital at the University of Georgia. Here she gained further experience in surgery, internal medicine, and emergency/critical care for all large animals.

Dr. Brooke joined Southern Crescent Equine Services in July of 2021. Her interests include lameness, diagnostic imaging, emergencies, and ophthalmology. She spends her free time hiking with her dogs, fishing, exploring new restaurants, and being active with her local church. (Source)
