Profile
About Catherine Winfree
My background and careers have been in the sciences of health and wellness. I began as a medical technologist, trained to be a licensed medical massage therapist in North Carolina, then completed my health coaching training at Duke Integrative Medicine before sitting for national board certification as an NBC-HWC.
Flower essences entered my practice as a tool for supporting emotional and behavioral shifts alongside lifestyle changes. Internal pilot study data from my human wellness clients showed a 65% improvement in sleep quality, 37% in relaxation, and 31% in focus within the first week of use.
Having grown up on a farm in Iowa, I have always understood animals as individuals with distinct emotional lives. When clients started mentioning emotional and behavioral issues with their pets, I naturally offered a custom blend. The results were just as confirming as those with people. An anxious, barking dog calmed down, a feral cat finally allowed her owners to pet her, and an aggressive fish tank stopped eating the new fish.
This led me to take animal communication courses so I could learn to connect with the stressors an animal was feeling and better choose the flower essences to support their situation.
Knowing the nervous systems of people and animals are similar and resonate with each other, I started asking pet owners to take the blend alongside their pet. Not only did the pet improve faster, but I also noticed subtle changes in the pet owner, too — a softer voice when interacting with their pet, and less irritation with normal daily mishaps.
Calm Animal Solutions offers custom flower essence blends for horses experiencing anxiety, fear, reactivity, spooking, separation distress, trailer resistance, herd aggression, and performance-related stress.
I also offer a blend, Calm Rider, Calm Horse, specifically formulated for horse-rider anxiety to address the mirrored tension and anxiety feedback loop between horse and rider.
Each blend is custom-selected through animal communication and prepared individually. No two orders are identical.
Flower essence use in equine and veterinary contexts is referenced by VCA Animal Hospitals and integrative veterinarians, including Dr. Allen Schoen, DVM, and has been covered in dvm360.
Please view the before-and-after videos demonstrating observable behavioral changes on my website. There is the calming of Thor’s aggressive barking, the taming of a feral cat, and an aggressive fish tank becoming a serene and peaceful visual source of enjoyment.
