Chauncey Brooks Smith, DVM

Dr. Chauncey Smith grew up in Tucson, Arizona. His mother is a horse trainer of American Quarter horses and American Paint horses. As a competitor, Dr. Chauncey rode to multiple World and Reserve World Champion titles. Additionally, Dr. Chauncey competed nationally via the United States Equestrian Federation in equitation and hunter over fences events. Dr. Chauncey’s show career provided him with the opportunity to interact with veterinarians from a young age – resulting in his passion for the career.

Dr. Chauncey graduated from the University of Arizona in 2012 with his bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Sciences. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 2020. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Smith mentored under Dr. Thomas Johnson in Tucson, Arizona. During his education, he worked closely with Dr. Brett Berthold, Dr. Sean Allison, and Dr. Sasha Hill at the Cleveland Equine Clinic. Dr. Chauncey has a strong interest in equine sports medicine.
