Cheryl Lopate, DVM DACT

Dr. Lopate received a MS in reproductive physiology from The Ohio State University in 1987 and she graduated from the same university in 1991 with her DVM.

She completed a residency in comparative theriogenology (reproduction) at Purdue University in 1997 and became board certified in the same year. She has worked in a variety of practice settings including general mixed practice, referral practice and academia. She believes very strongly in providing client education and speaks at breed group meetings regularly. She also speaks at many veterinary conferences and has written many journal articles, book chapters and books on a variety of reproductive topics. In her free time she rides her Cleveland Bay gelding, Ro; herds with her three dogs Madison (an Australian Shepherd), Reggie and Finn (both Pembroke Welsh Corgis) and works on her hobby farm. She has a barn kitty name Cleo, 5 sheep (for the dogs to herd) and 2 miniature donkeys named Annabelle and Emily. (Source)
