Clayton Matchett, DVM

Dr. Clayton Matchett is one of our large animal veterinarians. He first moved to Maui in 1992, and then returned again in 1997 with his family after graduating from the University of California, Davis, veterinary school. Dr. Matchett’s first employment was at Makawao Veterinary Clinic working with Dr. Ted Cleghorn as a mixed animal practitioner. In 2007 Dr. Matchett and his family relocated to New Zealand for a lifestyle change. His New Zealand practice focused on sport horses and equine dentistry.

Dr. Matchett returned to Maui and purchased Makawao Veterinary Clinic in 2019. He looks forward to continuing the founding vision of those that molded his veterinary career and made it the respected and dependable practice it is today.

His favorite pastimes include surfing with his family, kite boarding, hunting, and working on the family property. (Source)
