Hi, I’m Daria, a native Long Islander with a lifelong passion for horses.
I’ve been a dedicated horse lover and rider for as long as I can remember. I started riding at local English barns at an early age and eventually moved into exercise riding for local horse owners. Over the years, I’ve developed a deep connection with a variety of breeds, from OTTBs and Arabians to Mustangs. I’ve put countless miles on them, introducing them to the trails at SUNY Old Westbury and learning from each ride. Wherever I went, I sought out opportunities to broaden my knowledge—all stemming from a Natural Horsemanship approach.

I have a veterinary background, a strong love for art, and a hands-on approach to horse care. Horse husbandry has always been a huge part of my life, and I’m passionate about the well-being of each horse I work with.

In 2018, I attended Mission Farrier School in Washington State, where I honed my skills in hoof care, natural balance trimming, shoeing, and therapeutic hoof care. After completing my training, I moved to Tucson, Arizona, where I worked with established farriers and started my own practice. Four years later, I returned to Long Island to be closer to family and reconnected with the local horse community. Over the past three and a half years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the best farriers on the island, visiting barns of all sizes.

I also brought my Mustang, Tornado, with me from Arizona, and I love riding him during my downtime.

My Approach to Farriery:
I believe in giving each horse the best care possible, always leaving them better than I found them. I take a thoughtful, patient approach to farriery and limit the number of horses I work on each day to ensure quality care. I’m a big advocate for educating owners who want to learn more about hoof care, and I always work collaboratively to make sure the horse and owner are both happy with the results. While I believe in a holistic approach and feel that barefoot can often be all a horse needs, I have the skillset to do what’s necessary for both the horse and the owner. That’s why I’ve trained in all aspects of hoof care—to have the tools to meet each horse’s unique needs.
