I grew up in a small town around Chattanooga TN. I have had animals all of my life, these have mostly consisted of dogs, cats, and horses. Growing up I showed American Saddledbreds and TN Walking horses along with training several colts and fillies to ride. For my undergraduate degree I chose TN tech university with a degree in agriculture with hopes of going into vet school. Thinking I needed more experience with animals and within the veterinary field i started as a kennel technician for a animal hospital in Chattanooga. I worked my way up to a laboratory technician over time. I then applied to vet school and was accepted into the University of Glasgow school of veterinary medicine. I studied over in Scotland for the next six years and loving the culture, people, making lifelong friends in the process. After graduating in June 2013, i started working in a small rural predominately small animal with some large animal clinic. Due to being in rural northeast GA we had our own on call system for emergency services. During this period was when I discovered my passion for emergency medicine. I still enjoy general practice and seeing different cases and animals. I think my craziest has been seeing a squirrel who was lame. I decided it was time for a change and moved from northeast Georgia down to Locust Grove in 2019. I enjoy working overnights and seeing what all comes in along with soft tissue surgery. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family both human and fur. I still enjoy working with horses and now have a project horse that I am working with. I enjoy swimming and have been certified to SCUBA dive which I would love to get back into. Reading all sorts of books for pleasure and unwinding. I enjoy horseback riding on trails when able to have friends to go with. (Source)
