Emily Lewis

I’m a fifth generation horse trainer. Besides my formal education in psychology and behavioral science, my background includes showing horses at a national level in a variety of disciplines and breeds including dressage, AQHA and APHA pleasure and ranch horses, Foundation Quarter Horses in Ranch Riding, Reining, and Trail, and Versatility Ranch Horse. I start colts and make pleasure horses, ranch horses, and western dressage horses at my farm in Eau Claire, WI. I take a very limited number of outside training horses and I treat each one as my own. My priority is developing horses that are happy, relaxed, and confident in their work and enjoy their job. I have found over the past 30 years of training horses, that this leads to long-term physical and mental soundness in horses that families can enjoy for decades. I am a small, family-owned and run operation. My emphasis is quality over quantity.

Area of Expertise: Colt-starting, Ranch horses (specialties are Ranch Riding and Ranch Trail), pleasure horses, western dressage. I currently compete at Wisconsin Foundation Quarter Horse Association, Northern Stock Horse Organization, WI Western Dressage Association of America, National Open Horse Show Association, Western Saddle Clubs Association, and a number of local open shows. 2025 and 2026 included several top ten finishes in two different world show competitions.

Types of Horses: Open to any breed or riding discipline. The majority of the horses I take for training are AQHA, APHA, ApHC, appendix quarter horses, and warmbloods.
