Erin Thompson, DVM

Dr. Thompson is a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. She graduated with distinction as a member of the first graduating class from the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and returned to complete a Master of Science degree concurrent with her Sports Medicine residency. Born and raised in the Calgary area, she has been involved with horses her entire life.
Dr. Thompson has competed in a variety of equine disciplines ranging from hunter trials and show jumping, to team cattle penning, to her current focus on working cow horse. Dr. Thompson was a Doctor of Chiropractic for 7 years, primarily treating high-level human athletes such as NFL players and Olympic competitors. This experience has given her a unique set of skills that she brings to her equine work. Dr. Thompson has advanced training and a keen interest in lameness, “lack of performance” issues, back pain, respiratory conditions, comprehensive equine rehabilitation programs, and fitness testing.
