Farynn Kimmes

Dr. Farynn Kimmes is an Associate Veterinarian at Superior Animal Hospital. Dr. Kimmes earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. Dr. Kimmes found veterinary medicine to be a perfect fit for her since it combines her fascination with medicine and deep love for animals. According to Dr. Kimmes, the best part about working in the veterinary field is the ability to form relationships with people in the community and getting to know clients and their pets.

Born and raised in Superior, Dr. Kimmes is excited and humbled to be able to serve the pets in her hometown! Dr. Kimmes lives on a little farm with her husband, Joe. They have one beautiful daughter, Kinsley, who passed away at four months old due to a heart defect. Since losing her, Dr. Kimmes and her husband continuously honor her through acts of kindness and helping others.

In her free time, Dr. Kimmes enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, reading, cooking, and caring for her 2 dogs, 2 cats, 3 horses, and 2 mini donkeys. In addition to her passion for veterinary work, Dr. Kimmes is an advocate for congenital heart disease (CHD) awareness, which most people don’t realize Is the most common birth defect. Dr. Kimmes serves on the state board for Conquering CHD and met with state legislators last year to share Kinsley’s story and advocate for CHD research and funding. (Source)
