Foster Northrop, DVM

Foster is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he played football from 1980-1984. Foster practiced equine medicine for 16 years with Dr. Mark Cheney before opening Northrop Equine, and spent time in Africa after graduating college doing research for a big game for the TV show Wild Kingdom. Foster is our head equine veterinarian, who focuses primarily on thoroughbreds at Keeneland, Churchill Downs, and Palm Meadows (FL). In 2008, Dr. Northrop was appointed to the KY Horse Racing commission board by Gov. Steven Beshear. Additionally, in 2010, Foster was awarded the Presidents Award from the AAEP. (Source)
