Gabriella Kawahisa Piquini, BS

Dr. Gabi Piquini has joined our veterinary team for her internship year. Dr. Piquini grew up in São Paulo, Brazil, where she completed one year veterinary school at Anhembi Morumbi before moving to the United States. She graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2017 with a B.S. in Animal Science and where she rode competitively for their equestrian team in IHSA shows. Then she went on to earn her DVM from Colorado State University. During vet school, Dr. Piquini worked as a radiology and large animal surgery and medicine technician, and was involved in research about intra-articular antibiotic usage. Her main areas of interest include equine surgery and diagnostic imaging. During her free time, she enjoys eating tasty food, riding her lusitano Diesel, spending time with her husband Matt and dog Snowflake, and traveling back to Brazil to see her family. (source)
