Prior to being a veterinarian, Dr. Garcia went to Sierra South Horseshoeing School in Ramona California, and has been a practicing farrier since 2009. In addition to his farrier practice Dr. Garcia taught veterinary students at the University of Queensland in the areas of farriery, hoof related lameness, and podiatry through seminars and talks. Dr. Garcia graduated from The University of Queensland in Brisbane Australia and is a licensed veterinarian in the United States as well as Australia. After graduating Dr. Garcia immediately started practicing with a Brisbane, AU based veterinary practice primarily assessing and treating lameness and foot related problems. Dr. Garcia has had the opportunity to learn directly from many talented veterinarians and farriers such as Dr. Chris Pollitt and Dr. Andrew VanEps and has completed extensive equine practice continuing education particularly in the areas of therapeutic farriery, equine podiatry, lameness, and sports medicine. Dr. Garcia is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners(AAEP), the American Veterinary Medical Association(AVMA),the American Association of Professional Farriers(AAPF), American Farrier’s Association(AFA), and Equine Soundness Professionals.
