James E. Lewis, DVM

Dr. Lewis grew up in Ellicott City and is one of ten children. He attended the University of Turin School of Veterinary Medicine in Italy and graduated in 1981.

After graduation, Dr. Lewis spent a few years travelling the world with various volunteer organizations. He spent time with both the Peace Corps and the Volunteers in Overseas Cooperative Assistance (VOCA). He worked extensively in central America, north Africa and southeast Asia. In 1992, after a year in Cambodia, he returned to Maryland.

Dr. Lewis studied acupuncture, chiropractics and homeopathy. He maintained a primarily holistic practice before joining Damascus Equine Associates.

Dr. Lewis’s professional interested include alternative therapies with a focus on acupuncture and chiropractics. He is an avid polo player. Dr. Lewis current resides in Poolesville, MD with his wife Ann. (Source)
