Jamie Hobson, DVM

Jamie was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario and was introduced to vet medicine by an older brother. During his high school and university days he worked on many different types of farms but soon started to realize he liked cows……a lot. Jamie joined Eldale after graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1993 and eventually purchased a share in the practice from the retiring Dr. Ted Clarke in 1999. Also that year, Jamie went back to OVC part-time to complete a MSc in Epidemiology and to get specialized training in Dairy Health Management. His research focused on Neospora abortions in Ontario dairy herds. Jamie spends most of his time doing Dairy Herd Health and has recently delved into Embryo Transfer work. Jamie lives in Ariss with his extremely understanding and patient wife, Tracy. They have three very busy girls, Sydney, Lindsay and Samantha; a pair of rambunctious chocolate labs; one curious cat and one scaredy cat. In his spare time Jamie enjoys sports, especially rugby, making ice rinks, spending time at the family cottage and his weekly firing (and re-hiring) of Lisa! (Source)
