Jenna Moore, DVM, PhD

Dr. Moore earned her DVM from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She continued her studies at Virginia Tech for an additional 3 years, researching Equine Malignant Melanoma with the Center for Comparative Oncology, and completing her PhD in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences in 2013. Dr. Moore interned at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center from 2013-2014. Her areas of interest include oncology, dentistry, and preventative care. She is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners (AASRP), the Virginia Association of Equine Practitioners (VAEP), and the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (VVMA).

Dr. Moore grew up in York, Pennsylvania, where she was active in 4-H and rode hunt seat and dressage. She moved to Virginia in 2002 to attend Bridgewater College and was a member of the Equestrian Club and Team from 2002-2006. She now lives in Marion, Virginia with her husband, 2 children, and menagerie of animals. She is the volunteer leader for the Smyth County 4-H Horse Club and coaches the Smyth County Questrians 4-H Hippology and Horse Judging Teams. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, gardening, raising myotonic goats, and riding her horses.
