Jennifer Stewart, DVM

Dr. Jennifer Stewart received her doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) degree with honors from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1989 after first receiving dual degrees in Biology and Psychology.

She later earned her certification in veterinary acupuncture (CVA) from the Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians at Colorado State University. Dr. Stewart is receiving advanced training in pain management and rehabilitation through the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM) and the Canine Rehabilitation Institute.

​Dr. Stewart moved to Oceanside from Las Vegas in 1992 and managed and later owned Rancho Del Oro Veterinary Hospital. She has been extensively involved in humane care of animals by serving the North County Humane Society in Oceanside and also the Irvine Animal Care Center in Irvine, CA. She later worked in private practice again with Shadowridge Veterinary Hospital in San Marcos before starting a mobile practice for all of north county San Diego.

​Dr. Stewart is a member of the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association (SDCVMA), the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the IVAPM.

​Dr. Stewart is happily married and the mother of twin girls. The family also has two dogs, Silly Putty and Gingerbelle and five cats, Otis, Mabel, Hermione, Jake and Frankie. The girls are very involved in the care of the animals and have chickens, tortoises, fish and 2 ponies, a Welsh mix named Sienna and a Norwegian Fjord named Eeda. She has special interests in reading, bicycling, running, hiking, and horseback riding with her family. (Source)
