Jessica Dunbar, DVM

Dr. Dunbar has always had a passion for animals and science. In her youth, growing up in the Midwest, her parents were always patient with her bringing home animals in need of a home. She was lucky to have a horse crazy mom. She rode in Pony Club and carried on eventing through college. Dr. Dunbar completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

After graduating from the University of Illinois, Dr. Dunbar completed a year-long internship at Wisconsin Equine Clinic and Hospital in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin before she came to work here at Littleton Equine Medical Center in 2006. Dr. Dunbar’s main areas of focus here at Littleton Equine are Dentistry and Chiropractic, but she enjoys all aspects of equine practice and adores interacting with horses and their humans! In 2017, Dr. Dunbar became a partial owner in Littleton Equine Medical Center.

When Dr. Dunbar is not working, you can find her spending time with her husband, Chris, and daughters, Julia and Rachel. The menagerie at home includes horses, dogs, chickens, and a cat. Dr. Dunbar and her family enjoy exploring and enjoying the beautiful state of Colorado. When she’s not working, she attempts to keep up with her children and their extracurricular activities which include 4-H, dance, gymnastics, and piano. (Source)
